We are currently recruiting for a Senior Youth Justice Officer to join the local authority in Peterborough.LOCATION:
Sand Martin House, Peterborough, PE2 8AP
HOURS:37 hours per week
DURATION:6 months ongoing
PAY RATE:
£28.00 per hour Ltd
Senior Youth Justice Officer Duties
- To manage a caseload of service users with varied levels of need in accordance with National Standards for Youth Justice
- To complete risk of reoffending, risk of serious harm and safety and wellbeing assessments on young people engaged in the criminal justice system
- To prepare high quality presentence reports, referral order reports and parenting assessments and reports for other agencies within required deadlines.
- To deliver and / or coordinate interventions that focus upon reducing the risk of reoffending, risk to others and risk to the young person, including complex interventions with highrisk young people
- To manage complex situations and challenging behaviours associated with working with vulnerable adults and / or young people
Requirements:
- Recognised Professional Qualification in either Social Work, Probation Diploma, Youth Justice, or equivalent
- Knowledge of the core aim(s) of a Youth Justice Services
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and practice relating to criminal justice and work young people
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and through all mediums
- Effective use of IT and Electronic case management
