The Peterborough City Council is seeking a highly skilled and passionate professional to fill the role of Diversion Team Manager in the Youth Justice Service. This is a fixed-term contract opportunity that requires a talented individual to lead a team of Diversion and Serious Youth Violence Workers.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team that focuses on preventing children and young people from entering the criminal justice system. This involves working with vulnerable youth who may be at risk of exploitation, contextual risks, and trauma. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of detached youth work and effective practices that prevent offending behavior.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Diversion and Serious Youth Violence Workers in the Youth Justice Service.
- Develop and implement strategies to prevent children and young people from entering the criminal justice system.
- Collaborate with the Youth and Family Team and Missing and Exploitation Team to ensure a comprehensive approach to supporting vulnerable youth.
- Implement evidence-based approaches and trauma-informed practices to support the well-being and achievement of children and young people.
- Work closely with senior management to ensure the delivery of effective interventions that make a positive impact on young people and their families.
