What you'll be doing

Our UK Balfour Beatty Major Projects business has a terrific opportunity for a Senior Estimator (Heavy Civil Engineering) within our Energy Projects Sector from our headquarters based in Canary Wharf, London. The Senior Estimator will be supporting the Managing Estimator to develop estimates from 1st Principles associated with the Balfour Beatty portion of multi-disciplinary Energy Projects across multiple stages of the pricing process. They will review customers' drawings and specifications to prepare accurate costing sheets for materials, labour, and equipment. Oversee and/or interrogate design options and value solutions and, if appropriate, identify the attractiveness of a project based on sound estimating principles. Record assumptions and identify risks and opportunities, including developing the risk evaluation from a pricing/budgetary point of view. Liaise with the project team & supply chain to develop and understand methodologies and principles proposed.

Who we're looking for

You will have the following:

  • Infrastructure Main Contractor background
  • Ideally in the Heavy Civil Engineering market
  • Chartered e.g. ICE, CICES, RICS, CIOB
  • Candy estimating software knowledge desirable
