This is an exciting time to join the Trust, as our short-term objective is to exit NHS Oversight Framework 4 but simultaneously agree a transition plan from NOF3 to NOF2. This is a complex area given the range of planning requirements which can be incompatible, needing experience of leading significant planning cycles and exceptional communication to navigate areas of difference (both Trust and ICS), applying sound judgement to resolve issues.

The successful candidate will provide compassionate leadership within the finance function and be a senior leader within BHRUT and the NEL Integrated Care System (ICS). They will drive delivery of financial sustainability through an uncompromising focus on value for the benefit of patients and residents. They will develop the Board approved top-down financial plan to be consistent with NEL and National guidance and Trust integrated planning process.

Main duties of the job The post holder is responsible for the Trusts annual finance plan. They will produce a top-down plan each year for approval by Trust Board, thereby setting the principles, financial ambition and clearly articulating risk appetite. The process will be consistent with National and Regional planning guidance and the Trusts approach to integrated planning. The top-down plan will incorporate,

1) The financial improvement strategy as developed by the Deputy CFO Strategy, Insight and Delivery, showing how the Trust can deliver sustainable finances over a five-year context.2) An investment plan as per the Deputy CFO Investments and Commercial3) Working capital plan as per the Deputy CFO Financial Services and Accounts. About us We provide care for the residents of three diverse London boroughs. Most of our 7,800 permanent staff live in Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge and the majority are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups. We also provide healthcare services to people in south west Essex, and specialist neurosciences services to the whole of the county.

Our services include all the major specialties of large acute hospitals and we operate from two main sites - King George Hospital in Goodmayes and Queen's Hospital in Romford. We have two of the busiest emergency departments in London - more than 300,000 people visited our A& Es in 2023. We also provide outpatient services at Brentwood Community Hospital, Barking Community Hospital, Loxford Polyclinic, and Harold Wood Polyclinic.

We're pleased to be leading the way in reducing the time our patients wait to get the treatment they need. The Elective Surgical Hub at King George Hospital is one of eight to be accredited as part of a national scheme the Care Quality Commission has raised the ratings for urgent and emergency care at Queen's and King George hospitals and data released by NHS England showed that the Trust was the most improved in 2023 for reducing waits for emergency care.

We are particularly proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre Radiotherapy Centre Hyper Acute Stroke Unit and dedicated breast care service at King George Hospital.
