The Maternity Unit at the Royal Oldham Hospital part of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust is looking for exceptional individuals to join our midwifery bleep holder team.


We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic midwives to join the Maternity team working in partnership with our well established multi-disciplinary team.


The post holders will have a key leadership and management role at a senior level and will provide specialist skills and knowledge to support the organisation and the delivery of care for patients within the division.

The post holders will be an advocate for women and their families in accordance with the philosophy and standards of care within the area, ensuring that Trust values and beliefs are upheld.

The bleep holder role is fundamental in the delivery of high standards of midwifery care, ensuring an environment that is conducive to well-being.

The bleep holders will be visible and accessible in the clinical area for patients, relatives and staff.

They will lead by example and act as a positive role model for all staff, taking responsibility for your own professional development.


Maintain personal standards of conduct and behaviour, which are consistent with Trust and Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards and requirements.

The role will cover the Royal Oldham Maternity unit. The bleep holders shift pattern will include being rostered to early, late and night shifts. You will need to be naturally responsive to the changing demands on your priorities and workloads.

Today, Oldham is responsible for delivering a range of acute and community health services across the local area and at The Royal Oldham Hospital.

As a designated major trauma unit for Greater Manchester and one of only three vascular centres in Greater Manchester, Oldham is a specialist hospital for acute surgery and provides state-of-the-art onsite pathology services to the North West.


The Alliance provides the benefits of scale but delivers this locally through multiple hospital sites which make up four new Care Organisations - Bury, Rochdale, Oldham and Salford.

Using our mantra of 'Saving lives, Improving lives', the aim is for our Care Organisations to work closely with the communities they serve to deliver safe, high quality and reliable care, which are trusted, connected and pioneering.

Our Care Organisations are designed to operate within our group arrangement of hospitals, community and healthcare services which bring together over 17,000 staff and services.
