What are we looking for from a Travel Consultant


We're looking for an enthusiastic, positive, and energetic person who has a passion for travel and helping others achieve their travel dreams.

We're needing someone who can become an important part of the team and help in many different aspects of the business, with the overall goal of providing visitors to Scotland a fantastic experience from their first contact all the way through to after they've explored Scotland

The successful applicant will demonstrate a knowledge for Scotland, a willingness to learn and desire to help others.


We need an individual who's driven and can perform using their own initiative, though is determined to help in the overall success of the team.


  • Someone who has excellent customer service and communication skills and is happy dealing with guests from across the globe.
  • You'll take pride in your role and have a natural flair for customer service
  • You'll be able to sell and display the benefits of a trip to Scotland
  • We need someone who can take the lead in a situation and work alone, unsupervised though is equally capable of playing their part in a small and dynamic team

Essential Skills and Requirements for our Travel Consultant

  • You're able to deliver an exceptional Customer experience with outstanding attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills are essential as you'll be communicating with clients from all over the world from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Previous experience working in a customer service role
  • Passion for Scotland and a Willingness to learn if you're willing to learn and have a good cheerful outlook, then we believe that any knowledge can be gained
  • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office
  • Strong knowledge & experience of administrative duties

Desirable

  • Experience working with Checkfront Booking system
  • Experience working with third party booking systems like Viator and Get Your Guide
  • Experience as a Travel Agent or Tour Operator
  • Speak multiple languages
  • Experience working with a diverse populations and cultures
  • Experience of managing a team

Example of daily duties of our Travel Consultant

  • Create Itineraries to suite the desires and needs of clients
  • Create estimates for tours, researching expectant costs for elements of the trip
  • Manage bookings via Online booking system and thirdparty agent sites
  • Work directly with Managing Director, Tour Guides, and clients to ensure trips run smoothly
  • Sourcing of accommodation and other services such as activities, distilleries and entrance fees relating to tours for both staff and clients
