Have you got the right skills to support an active man in his mid-thirties, who has a learning disability, to live an independent life in his own home in Brentwood, Essex?

We need a resourceful male Support Worker/Personal Assistant to join an existing team.


He is very lively with a wide variety of interests involving going out and about in his car or using public transport.

His activities include going to the cinema, fencing, health club and hiking.

Assistance in running his home is necessary which includes laundry and cooking, and some personal hygiene care is required involving grooming and guidance on dressing.

Prior experience is not essential but a positive attitude, strong communication skills and a balanced temperament are critical.

Additionally, you must be patient and be able to display initiative and work independently within the framework of the team.

A clean driving licence is essential. On the job training will be provided.


The position requires working about 2 days and 2 nights per week on a set weekly rota, earning circa £28,000 pa with 5.

6 weeks holiday and pension plan
