Working at Kent Coast Volunteering (KCV) is more than "just another job", it's a chance to be part of something that really matters with a team that truly cares. You probably already know us; we are a recognised brand in Thanet, Dover, and Folkestone & Hythe, supporting volunteers and volunteer involving organisations to respond to the challenges of social action, meet needs and improve quality of life.

Over the last two years we have shown agility and skill, adapting our services and infrastructure support to meet the needs of our service users.

Now, thanks to a 3-year award from The National Lottery, Kent Coast Volunteering is pleased to be recruiting to a variety of uniquely shaped roles which will support local people to find meaningful and accessible volunteering opportunities.

We will also provide support that enables organisations and local groups to develop best practice in volunteering and the running of their organisations.

The Role:
Working as part of a team, the post holder will:

  • Co-ordinate the passage of KCV's Volunteer Centre Quality Accreditation (VCQA) which covers five functions: Strategic Development of Volunteering, Good Practice Development, Developing Volunteering Opportunities, Acting as a Voice of Volunteering and Providing an Efficient Volunteer Brokerage Service.
  • Coordinate the passage of KCV's Local Infrastructure Accreditation which supports Volunteer Involving Organisations (VIO's) in four ways: Leadership and Advocacy; Bringing Networks Together; Community Development and Leading a Culture in which Volunteering can thrive.
  • Be responsible for policies and procedures that support the recruitment, retention and management of KCV's volunteers (approx. 350).

Quality Standards and Compliance

  • Identify barriers to volunteering at KCV and recommend solutions.
  • Embed diversity across KCV volunteering policies and ensure they are easy to understand.

Good Practice Development

  • Coordinate and host Lunch & Learn sessions for VIO's over the life of the project, providing an opportunity to have structured discussions on topics of interest or concern which promote best practice and provide topical information.

  • Record and collate impact statements that evidence the difference this role has made to KCV, VIO's and volunteers.
  • At key monitoring points review and evaluate project activities, impact and delivery status.
  • Feedback issues that impact VIO's and volunteers in the achievement/delivery of Best Practice.

Disclosure and Barring Service
