About Our School

Brewood School is a co-educational, independent, specialist day school providing high-quality education for secondary-aged boys and girls. Based in Kent, the school meets the needs of a diverse group of pupils with special educational needs, including speech, language and communication difficulties, autism, ADHD, Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties.

Job Description

We are seeking an outstanding Maths Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will have the energy, passion, and drive to raise standards and bring about the best for all members of our community. They will plan exciting and engaging lessons, considering all learning styles, and be aware of Ofsted requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with students with challenging behaviour/SEMH and have knowledge and understanding of developments in education, within SEMH settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Maths to secondary students with special educational needs
  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons
  • Assess and monitor student progress
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers and support staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for students
  • Contribute to the development of the school's Maths curriculum
Requirements
  • QTS Qualification
  • Experience of teaching Maths at secondary level
  • Proven teaching and learning experience in a relevant context
  • A strong understanding of child safeguarding
