What will you be doing as a Procurement Manager:
Working for this established business, you will be responsible for overseeing company sourcing capabilities and managing all operational aspects of supply chain.
As the Purchasing Manager, you are responsible for the sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing ofequipment, goods, and services to meet the company's operational requirements.
Duties will include:
- Developing, implementing, and continually improving purchasing strategies
- Managing supplier relationships and maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation
- Working in line with the business Quality Management System with a focus on continuous improvement of the company and products
- Managing ERP system purchase requirements for live projects; to coordinate inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs
- Conducting research to source the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality
- Running tenders, evaluating bids, and making recommendations, based on commercial and technical factors
- Negotiating and agreeing contracts, monitoring the quality of service provided
- Managing and monitoring status of all live purchase orders
- Training new employees and junior team members in the purchasing process and how to use the purchasing system
- Developing strategies to ensure that cost savings and supplier performance targets are achieved
- Managing supplier communications in relation to nonconforming goods
- Taking a handson approach whilst managing the workload of other team members
We would LOVE to hear from you if you have the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience in a similar senior Purchasing Manager or Procurement Manager or Head of Purchasing role
- Experience dealing with a wide range of bids and tenders
- Ideally hold an industry recognised purchasing qualification i.e. CIPS qualified level 4/5 or similar qualification
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Deep knowledge of inventory and supplier chain management
- Strong skills with Word, Excel, and Outlook (MS Project and ERP/MRP experience would be beneficial)
- Confident and assertive character with excellent interpersonal skills
- Dynamic and fast paced with the ability to take ownership
- Excellent financial and numerical skills and excellent in negotiations
- Strong relationship builder
- Full current driving licence
What will you get in return for your work as a Procurement Manager:
- A salary of £50,000
- £55,000 depending on experience + £4,000 car allowance
