Job Summary

Avantor is looking for a dedicated Category Specialist on a 12-month fixed term contract to join our Sourcing team.

The team

Avantor's Sourcing Team is part of a busy team of 12 supply chain professionals.

What we're looking for

• Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Word and Excel experience is required
• Excellent team player
• Proficient in Excel and ERP systems
• CIPS qualification desirable but not essential
• 3 years + in a Category role
• Purchasing experience
• Excellent communication/presentation skills
• Analytical and adaptable
• Excellent attention to detail and highquality focus
• Ability to work under pressure and strong problemsolving skills.

How you will thrive and create an impact

• You will provide procurement solutions to customer requirements, including recommendations on standard product items and alternative available products.
• You will expedite purchase orders; by request and based on achieving the best price/maintenance of appropriate stock levels
• You will manage and develop suppliers, including the implementation of specific supplier agreements.
• You will have a commercial understanding and analysis of market movements and pricing, including the negotiation of prices.
