Tenancy Support Worker

  • Hourly Rate: £14.79
  • Location: S3 7NG
  • Job Type: Temporary Contract
  • Working hours: Mon - Fri, no weekend or bank holidays.

We are seeking a dedicated Tenancy Support Worker to join our team, providing intensive and structured housing-related family support. This role is crucial for individuals and families who are facing the loss of accommodation or are at risk of homelessness, including those with complex needs and challenging situations.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Work collaboratively with the team and partner agencies to deliver effective support to families and the community.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of family members, identify training and support needs, and develop detailed support plans.
  • Manage a caseload of clients, ensuring service coverage and participating in case reviews and multi-agency meetings.
  • Educate service users on their responsibilities as tenants and promote rehabilitation and independent living.
  • Establish exit plans for service users to maintain positive behaviour post-support withdrawal.
  • Manage accommodation directly, ensuring rent and other charges are paid, reporting repairs, and maintaining property standards.
  • Contribute to supervision and team meetings to share practice changes or updates that assist in achieving the Service's goals.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Understanding of basic housing law and income benefits.
  • Knowledge of services and resources available to families.
  • Awareness of child protection issues.
  • Experience in roles involving support for families, children, supported housing, or housing management.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
