Senior Inventory and Quality Control Assistant

Supporting a busy operational warehouse team with Quality Control and Inventory management.
Reporting to the Team Leader, you'll be responsible for the smooth running of the Inventory and Quality Control team.

Working independently, you will work with operational teams to ensure all storage crate locations in the warehouse are ready for use and filled, and that the standard of books in stock are correctly graded.


Some of your key responsibilities will be:

  • Carrying out Quality and Inventory checks on books in stock
  • Completing 'floor to shelf' & 'shelf to floor' checks to maximise capacity
  • Running and documenting daily data from various systems, and completing necessary paperwork
  • Investigating any anomalies or issues in stock storage
  • Undertaking empty location checks and logging on reports.
  • Carrying out regular and documented spot checks in operational areas
  • Carrying out related administration tasks, including missing book investigations
Skills & Experience
Experience in a similar role and a good working knowledge of warehouse Inventory and Quality Control processes are essential.

To succeed you will also need:

  • Good relationship skills to build a good rapport with other departments, such as Picking and the Foreman teams.
  • Strong time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with condition guidelines and quality standards of books
  • Ability to provide feedback

Please note:

  • This role will entail manual handling, with weights up to 25kg, and long periods of standing.
  • You will be required to use safety boots, and other relevant PPE.
  • Our warehouse is a 24/7 operation and you will be working on a shift basis of four days on and four days off from 8am to 8pm.
