The Finance assistant will support the Finance team and the business by ensuring all income is correctly invoiced and accounted for. They will assist with monthly journals and reconciliations and support the team across a wide range of activities.

Main duties of the job

Working with corporate service colleagues and service managers plus the Group financial management team the role will involve:

Raise all customer invoices in line with daily and month end deadlines. Ensure all invoices are coded correctly and authorised in line with policies and procedures Maintain and create customer management records accurately and in line with policies and procedures. Perform customer statement reconciliations, ensuring that any discrepancies are rectified. Prepare and process month end accruals and prepayments as required Perform other allocated reconciliation's in line with month end and year end deadlines. Manage and produce monthly aged debtor report, including detail of findings. Support production of monthly finance reports from the system Support to VAT Consultancy Team including: Requesting and collating data from clients; Drafting proposal templates; General client admin Support other Finance Team colleagues as required

The position will be responsible to the Head of Finance and will produce regular service line financial information. The post holder will work closely with the finance team and departmental managers where appropriate.

QE Facilities (QEF) is a wholly owned subsidiary company of Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust (GHNT), based in the North East of England.

We provide a range of non- clinical services to GHNT and other NHS organisations. Our services include: estates, facilities services, procurement, medical engineering and devices, endoscopy decontamination and sterile services, transport, out-patient pharmacy, and prevention & management of violence & aggression training (PMVA).

In addition we provide consultancy services, advising clients on all aspects of establishing a subsidiary company within an NHS body to the provision of VAT compliance advice.

QE Facilities work to their own Terms and Conditions and these are not the same as Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust Terms and Conditions. This is not an Agenda for Change Pay Rate.

We do not hold a sponsorship licence and are unable to offer employment under any sponsorship arrangement.

Knowledge

Essential

Computer literate with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of Finance systems The ability to deal with large volumes of information and draw out the key themes Expertise in Excel and other systems to produce data in diagrammatical format Ability to be able to interpret and utilise information for reporting, forecasting and costing purposes

Understanding of NHS finance

Experience of accounting software
