A new and evolving service, so we are looking for someone who is keen to be involved in service development as well as innovative patient care.

The role will focus on leading a team of Enhanced Care Assistants who provide one-to-one care, for patients who lack capacity and are unable to maintain their own safety.

You will be responsible for encouraging team development, monitoring training compliance and supporting new training opportunities.

The team leader will be responsible for ensuring that the Enhanced Patient Observation policy is embedded in clinical practice, and assessment is completed in line with legislation.

The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) brings together staff and services from Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust (SRFT) and The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust (PAT).

Our dedicated team of around 20,000 staff - our NCA Family - provide a range of community and hospital services to over one million people across Bury, Oldham, Rochdale and Salford, as well as providing more specialist care services to patients across Greater Manchester and beyond.

Our Care Organisations are designed to operate within a group arrangement of hospitals, community, and healthcare services.

Together they manage and are responsible for the day-to-day running of their hospital and community services, ensuring the safe delivery of high-quality care at scale.

Oldham Care Organisation is responsible for delivering healthcare services at the Royal Oldham Hospital and within the community.

The hospital has a full A&E department, including a specialist one for children, and offers a comprehensive range of acute and general surgical services, including vascular surgery.

The post-holder will lead the Enhanced Patient Observation team, providing leadership to team members who are responsible for the provision of additional support to patients who are deemed to be at risk of harm and therefore require additional observation.

The team leader will be responsible for ensuring that the principles of the Enhanced Patient Observation policy are embedded in clinical practice, and that patients have received adequate assessment prior to the provision of support.

The post holder will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with the Mental Capacity Act / DoLS, and that patients who receive Enhanced Patient Observation have received appropriate assessment in line with legislation.

The post holder is responsible for developing training and overseeing delivery of appropriate education and training to team members and clinical staff across the Division of Medicine, to ensure that they are competent and provide appropriate care to patients with a range of conditions that necessitate the provision of additional support.

The post holder will work with specialist colleagues and AHP's to ensure that there is a collaborative approach to patient care.
