Job Summary

The Head of Strategic Planning will lead brand, marketing and communications planning output at a global level in Corporate Affairs, Brand and Marketing (CABM), supporting the drive for greater integration and impact within the function and broader business.

Working closely with the Global Head of Corporate Affairs, Global Head of People & Culture Communications and the Insights, Data and Analytics team, the role will help define global brand, reputation and employee engagement strategy and plans.

It will helpcoordinate and enhance global campaigns on issues that matter to the markets in our footprint, including our Stands:
Accelerating Zero, Lifting Participation, and Resetting Globalisation.

The role holder will also drive strategic alignment and collaborationacross Regions and Businesses, providing senior CABM leaders with visibility of strategic priorities, plans and implementation progress and effectiveness, with a laser focus on our customers, external stakeholders and colleagues.

Reporting to the Global Head of Corporate Affairs with a dual line into the Global Head of People & Culture Communications, the role will involve the development and management of global strategic frameworks, global planning tools, internal advisory on integratedcampaign planning, budget and KPI tracking, and ongoing evaluation of brand, marketing and communications opportunities and risks.


Responsibilities

Strategy:

  • Awareness and understanding of the Group's business strategy and how this must drive the global corporate affairs, brand and marketing strategy. Responsible for helping to deliver against Corporate Affairs, Brand and People & Culture Communications objectivesand key results (OKRs) as well as helping to deliver against Group Corporate Affairs and Brand & Marketing (CABM) OKRs.
  • Support the Global Head of Corporate Affairs and associated leadership team to define global reputation and brand strategy, including prioritisation, global integrated campaigns, critical workstreams and associated impact / reporting.
  • Support the Global Head of People & Culture Communications to define employee communications and engagement strategy, including prioritisation and associated reporting.

Processes:

  • Establish and run a global planning infrastructure within CABM, integrating into regions and businesses (CCIB and CPBB), supporting effective annual planning and quarterly / regular implementation and review forums.
  • Develop and manage a global corporate affairs, brand and marketing 'grid', providing oversight of major integrated campaigns, business announcements and other important activity at a regional or business level.
  • Work closely with the Insights, Data and Analytics team to track and evaluate brand and reputation and use insights to shape future strategies and campaign plans.
  • Oversight of the effective deployment of the global campaigns budget, both Business As Usual (BAU) and Investment, ensuring spend is tracked and that efficiencies and opportunities are proactively identified.
  • Support evolution and development of integrated operating model for global brand campaigns, working closely with the global brand lead as appropriate.
  • Drive close and effective relationships with critical external global agencies, bringing their insight and best practice into the team through planning forums and on an ad hoc basis.

Business:

  • Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic, market and regulatory environment within which the Group operates. Understanding of the Group's business model and how we operate at a global and regional level.

People & Talent:

  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Work in collaboration with the wider CABM team.
  • Coaching team members on best practice planning and integrated campaign execution.

Risk Management:

  • Anticipate and manage operational and reputational risk, escalating as appropriate.

Governance:

  • Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the Group's arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls
  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role
