Who are we and how will I be contributing to Public Health?


The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) enhance and improve the health of millions of people every day through the effective regulation of medicines and medical devices, underpinned by science and research.


Pharmaceutical Assessors in the Established Medicines team, work within our Population Health function to assess the quality aspects (including bioequivalence, when needed) of both initial and variation marketing authorisation for medicinal products.

The function aims to enable wider access to important medicines as alternative or complimentary to innovative medicines, reduce costs to the healthcare system, and deliver positive patient benefits.


The Population Health function is part of our Healthcare Quality and Access Group (HQA), which aims to bring together a fusion of our capabilities across both medicines and medical devices to enable licensing and market access, as well as ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.

This enables us to drive quality and critically appraise the benefits and risks to inform robust decisions on healthcare access including accelerated access pathways.

Important information about this vacancy
This is a
full-time opportunity, on a
permanent basis. Flexible working arrangements such as part-time/job sharing may be available. Please discuss this with the recruiting manager before accepting an appointment. The role will be based in 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf London, E14 4PU. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.

Government departments and agencies are working towards implementing a minimum 60% attendance in office sites.


We are currently practice a flexible, hybrid way of working, with a minimum of 40% of contractual hours per month working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business.

Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role, this can flex up to 60%, with the remainder of time worked either remotely or in the office Some roles will need to be on site more regularly.
