Circular Resourcing are pleased to be supporting a Development Client of ours based in London in their search for a new Grid Connections Manager.

The role will cover responsibility for Grid Connections across Solar, BESS and Wind Projects inclusive of Behind-the-Meter C&I green energy solutions to aid with demands across the energy sector

nLocation:
Central London (hybrid)

Salary ballpark:
£75k - £85k plus bonus (likely some flexibility for right candidate)

Key responsibilities:

nAct as the focal point for technical, commercial, and regulatory issues arisen from the scheme's grid connection proposals while ensuring grid compliance with the latest transmission and distribution networks standards.nWhenever needed, help with the preparation of G99 grid, direct transmission, and BELLA/BEGA applications.nReview of DNO/BELLA/BEGA/Transmission Connection Offers, prepare the relevant assessment reports and present the key findings to the Technical Director and Senior members of the Planning, Legal and Management Teams.nProvide technical assistance during the entire project development phase and ensure the factors influencing and influenced by the grid connection proposals are considered.nCoordinate and manage technical queries upon further engagement with the DNOs and NGESO at regular basis to facilitate the connection contractual process during the DNO Connection Offer and Project Progression/BELLA/BEGA Offer and post acceptance stages.nUpon Technical Director's guidance, actively involve with the ICP and EPC tendering process (including technical and commercial review of tender returns).nParticipate as Grid Lead in technical meetings with existing funders.nOn regular basis represent the company in DNOs' and Network Operators' connections engagement forums, conferences, and webinars.nAny other reasonable task as requested by a Manager, Partner or Director of the business.


Requirements:

nQualifications and KnowledgenPreferably a degree level qualification associated with electrical power systems and/or electrical engineering.nA proven track record with 5+ years of previous experience in connections operations as the lead in-house resource across a range of technologies, for a leading developer and operator of medium to large-scale power generation and/or battery storage schemes.nGood network of contacts across the DNOs, IDNOs and ICP environment (desirable, not required).nKnowledge of HV/MV substation and contestable/BoP elements design, construction standards and equipment costs.nKnowledge of the transmission grid operations in the UK.nA broad understanding of commercial and regulatory connections policy (UK).
