You would work within an MDT to deliver advanced Physiotherapy assessment and treatment of children within the complex needs team in the Specialist Assessment Service. To act as a source of expertise to fellow clinicians, Trust managers, Healthcare Professionals and other services internal and external to the Trust as required. To act as case lead for designated children co-ordinating all aspects of their care and acting as a point of contact for family. To supervise and appraise students within the specialist area as required. To lead in training and development of clinical practice and service. to undertake clinical audits and evaluation of evidence-based practice, initiating/participating in research within specialist area. If you have any questions please contact Claire Howell, Therapy Lead or ask to speak with a member of the complex needs team, on Main duties of the job *To take a lead case role within the Specialist Assessment Service Complex Needs team, providing advanced Physiotherapy assessment and treatment of children with diverse presentations and complex physical, medical and psychological conditions. *To gather a wide range of holistic information on behalf of the service in order to inform team assessment and therapeutic planning for identified children. *To use specialist skills to effectively manage caseload, work priorities including service delivery and patient and professional demands. *To be a source of expertise, to identify, analyse, evaluate and problem solve to enable the development and delivery of individualised intervention and treatment programmes in a variety of settings. *To provide a consultative role with relatives and staff providing advice, recommendations, support, training and instruction as identified. *To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner, managing and prioritising own caseload and time. Maintain appropriate records and data inputting. *To support the clinical lead of the service on a daily basis within own specialist area, including holding overview of own area of expertise and to deliver supervision as may be required.   • Diploma/degree in physiotherapy
  • Degree/post graduate qualification in own field of expertise.
  • HCPC registration in own clinical speciality
Experience Essential
  • Minimum of 4 years post-registration experience with at least 3 years' work at Band 6 level. Specific paediatric neurology experience. Experience of working with children aged 0-5 years and with children with complex additional needs
  • Specific experience of a minimum of 3 years working with children with complex needs
  • Experience of a wide range of young people and families presenting with high levels of complexity and difficulty
  • Detailed working knowledge of child development
  • Minimum of 3 years clinical experience of working within a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency context.
  • Experience of working with families from a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds
  • Experience of using a wide range of profession specific tests
