Key duties include:

  • Liaising with patients to arrange dates for surgery
  • Update Admission details onto Hospital IT systems, and send patient letters out in the post
  • Deal with patient enquiries, and enquires from members of staff
  • Organise interpreters as required
  • Liaise with Clinical staff and nonclinical staff about patient admission to hospital and bed state information
  • To be aware of the waiting list times and book patients in chronological order, within their 18 week pathway
  • Highlight to the service coordinator or Assistant Service Manager any potential issues with theatre lists
  • Liaise with all departments necessary to ensure patients are dated in a timely manner
