  • You will also be a key member of the Area's Leadership Group working closely with other Team Leaders and the Senior Leadership Team to support, develop and motivate staff.
  • Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role
The team

  • The Sustainable Places team lead on the Environment Agency's input into development, growth and planning policy matters. Seeking to secure the best possible environmental outcomes by working closely with internal colleagues, councils, numerous developers and strategic partners. Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire area has a diverse range of environmental issue and development pressures creating exciting opportunities for an interesting and diverse workload.
Experience/skills required- Good negotiation skills and enjoy influencing others.

  • Excellent communication and networking skills; with ability to successfully communicate to a range of audiences
  • Passion for managing, developing and supporting a team
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity, multiple priorities and competing demands
  • Confident in achieving quality results and in leading others to do the same
  • A positive role model who values, inspires, motivates and enthuses a diverse range of people
  • Able to swiftly build, develop and sustain new relationships
  • Eager to continuously adapt approaches for efficiency, innovation, and quality
  • Sound knowledge of the UK planning system and relevant legislation particularly relating to local plans/supporting evidence, major growth projects and development management workstreams
  • An awareness and understanding of the political framework we work within
