Waste Operative

Job Title:
Waste Operative

Pay Rate:
£11.03 per hour

Contract:
Temporary - minimum of 4 weeks work.

Shifts:
Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm

we are looking for a Waste Operative. You will be required to carry out day to day waste management duties on a chemical site. The role will involve a lot of manual handling and occasionally operating a Forklift (valid counterbalance license required).

You will be required to perform Transfer Station operations as directed by the Transfer Station Chemists.

Such tasks will include (but not be limited to):

  • Loading and offloading vehicles
  • Transferring waste from location to location on site
  • Transferring of waste to site skips
  • Crushing of drums
  • Cutting up of unwanted containers
  • Cleaning and tidying of operational areas
  • To maintain the highest standards of housekeeping.
  • To report maintenance issues and assist where necessary in their resolution.
  • To assist with the planned preventative maintenance system where appropriate.
  • To assist in reviewing and developing processing capabilities and efficiencies.
  • To help ensure the transfer of wastes from the transfer station is maximised and carried out efficiently.
  • To assist the Treatment Plant Shift Managers and Operatives where required.
  • To perform all other reasonable duties and tasks as requested.
  • Fork lift truck licence
  • Previous waste management experience
