Your Role
and What You'll Be DoingThis role is to assist with developing and delivering a cost effective and efficient payroll service to the group, representing value for money for the group. This role will also ensure that all periodic reporting is completed on a timely and accurate basis and will liaise with HMRC in respect of payroll related matters.
Key responsibilities will include:
Ensure all payrolls are processed on a timely and accurate basis, and that individuals are paid on time. Work with other parts of the business as required to integrate new acquisitions, and move onto our payroll system. Ensure starters and leavers are processed correctly and in a timely manner, and that appropriate controls are in place. Lead, manage and motivate the payroll team, creating an enabling and engaging environment, setting objectives and carrying out appraisals. Complete all required tax year end reporting and associated submissions and reports. With the support of the Payroll Projects Manager, ensure year end P11D (B) and any P11d's required for non-payrolled benefits are submitted. Ensure at all times that payroll reflects up to date legislation and best practice. Maintain payroll policies and processes, ensuring at all times compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Provide regular reporting as required by Finance, HR and other operational teams. Working closely with the HR team ,ensure that data from the HR system is reliable and accurate; work together on process improvement initiatives. Make payment submissions to the bank for payroll and expenses. Deal with queries on payroll related matters from staff at all levels, where appropriate identify and lead the changes required to resolve issues. Build trust, respect, integrity and excellent customer service expectations from Payroll and Finance across all IM teams. Assist the Head of Tax and Partner Services as otherwise required. About YouIdeally the successful candidate will have the following skills:
Educated to at least A level standard Excellent knowledge of payroll legislation Good Excel skills Experience of using integrated payroll systems Extensive and recent experience in preparing Payrolls and performing tax years ends Experience in preparing P11d's Minimum 5 years payroll experience Ability to work to tight deadlines, and work outside normal hours when required. Self-driven attitude and able to prioritise workloads with minimal supervision. Team worker, working in a friendly and relaxed, but highly professional atmosphere.
