Cheshire West Council is currently seeking a dedicated CP / Court Social Worker to join their team. The team is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families in our community.

With a focus on Court proceedings, we aim to provide high-quality social work services to achieve positive outcomes for vulnerable children.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage caseload, with no more than 20 cases, to ensure quality service provision.
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments, create effective intervention plans, and regularly review cases to meet the needs of children and families involved in Court proceedings.
  • Collaborate with the Team Manager, Senior Practice Lead, and other social workers to ensure cohesive and coordinated support.
  • Attend Court hearings and provide professional reports and recommendations to inform decisionmaking processes.
  • Engage with relevant professionals, including legal representatives, guardians, and healthcare providers, to gather information and advocate for the best interests of children.
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate case records and documentation in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in team meetings, supervision sessions, and continuous professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Social Work England registered
  • Proven experience working in a similar role, preferably in child protection and Court proceedings.
  • 2 years post qualifying experience

Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rate of £40 per hour, negotiable depending on experience.
  • Manageable caseload to ensure quality service provision.
  • Flexibility in terms of office presence (23 times a week) with the opportunity for hybrid working arrangements.
  • Duty once a week, providing flexibility and worklife balance.
  • Collaborative and supportive team environment, working alongside a Team Manager, Senior Practice Lead, and 7 social workers.
  • Covering Northwich and Winsford areas, offering variety and diversity in casework.
