The DoS FTTx will be responsible for developing Mayflex sales revenues, profitability, and customer relations in the UK fibre broadband, transport and utilities markets in line with the company's Impact plan.


The key aim of this plan in relation to the fibre market is to rapidly expand Mayflex market share through, existing and nett new customers, alongside development of our product offering.


We expect the successful person to develop close and mutually beneficial working relationships with key stakeholders within customers, industry groups, and where applicable 3rd party Mayflex supply partners.


The role will include creating a strategic business plan for the sales team, specifying growth opportunities, resource requirements and projected revenues and profits.

The DoS will be responsible for a mix of external and internal sales teams, setting clear performance expectations and developing capability in line with the current and future requirements of the business

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING TO MAYFLEX?

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Gather market information and intelligence to identify future growth areas and opportunities for Mayflex
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to develop product, marketing and stock plans that assist the accelerated growth of Mayflex market share
  • Create clear new business development plans, with measurable results
  • Assist in devising marketing campaigns and events that underpin the sales strategy and develop new and existing sales opportunities
  • Manages efficient, accurate customer development / opportunity reports that drive accurate forecasting, and sustainable growth of revenue and market share
  • Review sales productivity and allocate resources to maximise opportunities and drive cost efficiencies
  • Allocate sales revenue and margin budgets between the sales teams based on a sound evaluation of business potential and growth opportunities within targeted markets and customers
  • Recalibrate budgets in line with market conditions and changes when required
  • Identify and implement sales processes that encourage sustainable, structured, proactive sales activity and minimise reactive activities
  • Drive the effective use of sales tools and processes to improve forecast accuracy
  • Introduce process and behaviour enhancements to increase upsell and crosssell activity

People Management

  • Communicate a clear "line of sight" to direct reports so they understand how their contribution assists in the achievement of Mayflex strategic goals
  • Through the Sonepeople development programme, agree clear, measurable performance objectives with direct reports that are aligned to organisational goals and support achievement of the Mayflex strategic plan
  • Track associate and team progress against objectives and plan and provide development opportunities that enhance both the associate and team performance
  • Conduct regular coaching sessions with sales managers to develop their capability and performance
  • Contribute to Talent and Succession Planning processes to develop and maximise internal talent
  • Customer / Supplier Engagement
  • Develop board and senior level relationships with key customers and vendors and negotiate shared goals to position Mayflex as business partner of choice
  • Articulate the Mayflex message in a confident and in a compelling manner
  • Conduct benchmarking to identify, recruit and develop new strategic partners and suppliers
  • Foster a strong customercentric culture in the sales organisation

Desired attributes.

  • Experience of working at a senior level, with high levels of stakeholder management.
  • Proven new business development track record ideally in both direct sales to altnets
  • Proven above market growth achievements over a 3 year plus period
  • Able to bring value to the team through developing new business/customer acquisition, providing executive level support within accounts.
  • Ability to demonstrate logical decision making
  • Analytical, familiar with best CRM practice
  • Role will be home based, therefore must be able to travel across the UK as per the needs of the business.
