The Role of Software Configuration Manager entails overseeing changes to vital business systems, reporting to the Head of Software Engineering. Collaboration with business stakeholders, consultants, developers, and testers is paramount to ensure systems meet business requirements and adhere to best practices. This role includes managing the configuration of multiple software systems and ensuring changes are implemented through a controlled process.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage Biffa systems configuration, covering security, workflows, forms, reports, and data entities, commencing with Dynamics 365 F&O.
- Establish and maintain the configuration management process across systems, defining and preserving the configuration baseline as a reference for further development, testing, and deployment.
- Oversee the technical configuration of system enhancements, extensions, and integrations using standard tools such as Azure DevOps.
- Coordinate testing and release management of configuration changes, collaborating with test and release teams to ensure adherence to quality and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with business domain leads to strategize configuration needs over a 12-month horizon.
- Offer 3rd line technical support and troubleshooting for system issues, liaising with the internal IT support team, Microsoft support, and other vendors as required.
- Manage system documentation, training, and knowledge transfer for the IT team, assisting in end-user training for the business.
- Supervise a team of 5 application analysts, providing guidance in training and career progression.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Analysis, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in configuring and managing Enterprise applications.
- Thorough understanding of Enterprise applications functionality, architecture, and development tools.
- Proficiency in utilizing industry tools like Azure DevOps for enhancing system configurations and integrations.
- Experience working with SQL Server, PowerApps, and other core Microsoft technologies.
