Job Summary

Hampshire CAMHS West Early Help Service has an exciting opportunity for you to join their team as a Band 5 Primary Mental Health Worker. If you hold a core qualification in nursing, social work, or occupational therapy, this could be the perfect role for you. Experience in risk assessment, care planning, and collaborative work with young people and families is crucial. It's ideal if you have experience working with children and young individuals facing mental health challenges. A good grasp of mental health issues in children and young people is essential.

The service is currently expanding and enhancing its stepped model of care. You will have the opportunity to lead anxiety-based groups, deliver emotional coping skills sessions, and provide resilience-focused work. Your role will involve flexibility, including working in schools to conduct mental health forums, workshops, and interventions. Assessments, both general and specialized, will be part of your responsibilities, along with the possibility of managing a small case load and offering evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

This position necessitates access to a vehicle.

Main Duties of the Job

- Collaborate with the CAMHS PMHW team to deliver a community-based primary mental health service for children and young people.

- Provide advice and consultation to primary care workers on mental health and wellbeing aspects of children and their families.

- Direct children and families to the most suitable services to address their emotional needs.

- Conduct individual and joint assessments with primary care colleagues.

- Deliver various evidence-based therapeutic interventions and manage a small case load.

- Offer formal and informal training to agencies involved in the emotional care of children and young individuals.
