About us


Inclusion Education is a charity supporting young people with mental health and additional learning needs via are two primary sites - Inclusion School for year olds and Inclusion College for post 16 students.

This year we are launching Inclusion EB- our supportive work hub - offering next steps into work for young people and supporting neurodiversity in the workplace.


Inclusion EB8 will offer work experience placements, opportunities to develop office and administration skills as well as gaining in-house experience of industrial roles via our partnership with The Hygiene Bank - supporting stock management, orders, customer service and administration.


Each of our students will work towards building a variety of business skills and qualifications alongside in-house work experience coupled with supported work experience opportunities with a range of business and organisations in our network.


This approach offers our students their next steps into the world of work, gaining hands on experience in a range of different industries to develop their knowledge, skills and experience, building an impressive CV to support their future employment opportunities.


We are as passionate about our staff's mental health and wellbeing as we are about our learners' which is why we are a Leeds Beckett University Carnegie Gold Award for Mental Health in Schools winner and a mental health champion with our Employee Assistance Programme.

Person specification

  • A recognised qualification in mental health
  • Level 3 or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge and experience of working with neurodiverse young people
  • Awareness of factors impacting on and issues facing vulnerable children and young people and families (e.g. disadvantage, poverty, disability)
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Driving license and ability to conduct home and site visits
  • Experience of direct work with young people aged
  • Ability to listen to and communicate effectively young people
  • Ability to show empathy and work with participants in an appropriate manner and be mindful of individual needs.
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to record case notes accurately and clearly with a good standard of writing and IT skills.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Support young people to access and engage with work experience and employability opportunities
  • Monitor and record project delivery and outcomes (in line with project ethics and GDPR requirements) as directed by EB8 Lead.
  • Engage and develop relationships with young people in order to support their needs.
  • Create an environment where young people of all backgrounds and ages can feel comfortable expressing themselves.
  • Support young people with transition into the service (this could be from their home)
  • Promote wellbeing through practical, timely and appropriate interventions.
  • Promote and support neurodiversity in the workplace, ensuring inclusive practices
  • Liaise closely with the Designated Safeguarding Leads and Provision Managers to ensure that the most appropriate interventions are utilised.
  • Adhere to best practice guidance covering areas such as records management, data protection legislation and BACP ethical code of practice.
  • Maintain professional standards through Supervision and CPD.
  • Attend team meetings and case reviews.
  • Attend and contribute to all safeguarding and child protection training and be aware of Inclusion Education's procedures at all times.
