Non-production Buyer

Role definition:
Complete the sourcing activity associated with spends for all non-production and production areas of the organisation, including administration tasks such as order placement.
Cost down activities should be pursued as a key driver as well as arranging rebate schemes contract pricing with key suppliers and negotiating the best value for the business.
Run cost saving projects from initial idea, assessing the scope of the project, benefit to the business and then the introduction of the project.
Key areas of responsibility, duties and the deliverables expected:
- Source non-production items for Engineering, Tooling, Maintenance, Logistics and Paint.
- Source production consumables at the lowest cost of supply in a timely manner to suit the needs of the internal customer.
- Review stock levels of routine items to maintain a minimum level of stock and replenish as appropriate.
- Raising of purchase orders and other duties; including specific invoice matching.
- Supplier reviews; meet with suppliers to discuss and review current status and performance for nonproduction and packaging items.
- Distribution of existing nonproduction stocks to avoid expenditure.
- Coordinate the calibration of onsite testing/verification equipment.
- Obtain quotes for testing required at RFQ stage.
- Contract negotiations with key suppliers.
- Establish and maintain cost effective long term agreements with key suppliers
- Maintain department KPI's for Nonproduction cost savings.

- Previous purchasing experience
- Contract negation skills
- MS Office literate
- Personable
Desirable Skills
- CIPS or working towards
- VDA audit qualification
