**Assistant Buyer - Interior Sector**

**Location**: Sutton Coldfield

**Position Type**: Full-time, Permanent

**About Us**: my client is a leading player in the interior sector, dedicated to supplying companies all over the UK with interior products. Renowned for seasonal specialities and pride themselves on fostering a dynamic and innovative work environment.

**Job Overview**: We are seeking a motivated and ambitious individual to join this team as an Assistant Buyer. In collaboration with my client this role will be crucial in supporting the Managing Director with the buying process for the current year and developing essential skills for the upcoming 2024/5 buying cycle.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist the Managing Director in the entire product cycle for the interior sector, from sourcing to curating the "look and feel" of the brand.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the interior sector, including customer preferences, product trends, and market dynamics.
- Attend two trips overseas annually with the Managing Director to learn about sourcing and build relationships with suppliers.
- Take ownership of and contribute to the development of product ranges within the interior sector.
- Progress to a full Buyer position responsible for specific seasons within the interior sector, with increasing budget responsibilities.

**Qualifications**:

- A degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Strong interest in buying within the interior sector.
- Exceptional organisational and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to our unique buying processes.

**Additional Information**:

- Salary progression commensurate with increased responsibilities.
- Budget responsibilities ranging from £800k - £2.5m
- This role will include over 1 month across the year travelling overseas (planned in advance)
- Strong drive to exceed expectations and progress to a senior buyer for the business

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
