Information Governance Officer

As an Information Governance Officer, you will be instrumental in ensuring NHS England complies with all relevant laws and regulations related to the collection, use, storage, management, publication, disclosure, and destruction of personal, patient, and corporate information.

Your work will help NHS England maintain public trust and uphold privacy standards.

Length of Contract:
This is a fixed-term contract position with a duration of 6 months.

Remote Work Model:

This role is fully remote, offering you the flexibility to work from anywhere while effectively balancing your professional and personal commitments.

Practical experience in an information governance, privacy, or data protection role, with a solid understanding of the basic principles and practices.

Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and high-performance environment, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.

Experience in drafting key information governance documents, such as policies, procedures, data protection impact assessments, and privacy notices, and tailoring these documents to different audiences.

Basic understanding of ethical issues related to data use and how they impact information governance practices.
Basic knowledge of IT systems, information security principles, and risk management practices relevant to information governance.

Data Use:

Awareness of issues related to the use of NHS health data, including the implications for patients, healthcare providers, and researchers.

Graduate-level qualification in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience in an information governance or related role.
Post-graduate qualification in a related discipline.
