The Role:
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for proactively resolving quality issues across the business along with implementing & improving processes to deliver right first time product to the customer. The right candidate will be willing to work collaboratively and proactively with other internal functions & incorporate Retrac's core values of Performance, Precision & Pride in all their work.
Main Duties:
Ensuring external customer requirements are understood, documented and communicated across all business functions.
Leading technical problem-solving across the business & NCR reviews & resolving quality issues.
Documenting & containing quality issues as required in production.
Visually inspecting components/assemblies against cosmetic standards.
Define internal processes & generate supporting process documentation.
Leading project quality reviews with internal functions & customers, including reporting on the status of external quality issues.
Ensure customer quality documentation is completed and submitted on-time.
Develop internal standards for product families
Provide guidance to the inspection team and ensuring quality best practices are being followed.
Technical Skillset:
Experience reviewing & interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
Visual inspection of cosmetic components/assemblies advantageous - Motorsport, niche vehicle, low production experience preferred.
Knowledge of quality management systems, associated industry recognised standards (ISO9001, IATF 16949 & AS9100).
Extensive knowledge of advanced problem-solving methodologies advantageous (8D/PPS).
Familiar with OEM customer requirements APQP & PPAP.
Internal auditing experience.
Automotive, Aerospace or Motorsport industry knowledge.
Use of MRP/ERP systems.
