Job Purpose:


The Head of Compensation & Benefits is a member of the HR leadership team (HRLT) and is the strategic lead and adviser on the total rewards strategy, in accordance with regional statutory requirements.


Located in the IB Global Centre Cardiff, on a hybrid basis, this position also provides support to the HRLT and regional HR Business Partners, whilst also having complete responsibility for project areas.

The position is accountable for ensuring that the total rewards strategy and HR data and analytics are delivered consistently in each region (UK, Singapore, The Netherlands, Washington DC and Geneva).

This position manages a team of four employees who are based in Singapore and the US.

Key Accountabilities

  • Compensation & Benefits _
  • Reviewing, simplifying and/or developing and implementing the total rewards strategy.
  • Trustee of several benefits arrangements such as pensions, life assurance, income protection and healthcare.
  • Annual review of performance and costing model(s) of thirdparty providers to ensure maximum delivery for spend.
  • Accountability for all policies relating to internal and external mobility. This will include knowledge of immigration, expatriate taxation and mobility practices.
  • Global Gender Pay Gap reporting and Equity and Parity of Pay reporting.
  • HRIS Management, Data Analytics and Reporting _
  • Global accountability for accurate HRIS data and HR data privacy.
  • Monthly/quarterly/annual reporting to the Board, HRLT and regional HR teams.
  • Projects _
  • Accountability and project ownership of total rewards, KPIs, data and analytics.
  • Supports HRLT with global projects.
  • Negotiates contracts and costs with external suppliers.
  • Ensures processes are delivered in a timely manner.

Job Requirements:

  • A qualification at degree and/or MSc/MBA level.


CIPD qualification
  • Level 5 or above.
  • Proven compensation and benefits experience, in a global organization.
  • Multicultural and intercontinental business experience.
  • Up to date knowledge of current employment, compensation and expatriate law within countries where IB Staff are represented.
  • Experience in managing a portfolio of thirdparty suppliers.
  • Substantial experience of job evaluation systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with all levels and collaborate effectively.
  • Excellent financial analysis and interpretation skills.
