About the Role
The University of South Wales is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Creative Industries. As a key member of the University's senior leadership team, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and development of the faculty, which encompasses eleven academic subject areas and key cross-faculty areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the faculty, ensuring alignment with the University's 2030 strategy and excellence in research, innovation, and commercial engagement.
- Develop and implement plans to drive quality, research, and commercial activity across the faculty, with a focus on building reputation, REF performance, and market share.
- Champion the faculty's research and innovation agenda, fostering partnerships and collaborations to drive economic growth and social impact.
- Lead the faculty's academic and professional services teams, ensuring excellent student outcomes, partnerships, and business development.
- Collaborate with other faculties and professional services to drive interdisciplinary innovation and excellent service quality and efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven track record of leadership and management in a higher education or related sector, with a strong understanding of academic and professional services.
- Excellent strategic thinking, with the ability to develop and implement plans to drive quality, research, and commercial activity.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including students, staff, and external partners.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a senior leadership team, with a focus on driving the University's 2030 strategy.
