Yacht Claims Manager

An amazing opportunity is available for a Yacht Claims Manager to join a specialized Lloyd's of London broker located in the City. This position provides the chance to become part of a small yet highly knowledgeable team managing a growing portfolio of UK and international business, primarily focusing on international yacht claims. The ideal candidate will have opportunities for career advancement and the potential to lead a larger claims department in the future.

Day to Day Responsibilities:
  • Manage yacht claims from First Notification of Loss (FNOL) to settlement.
  • Implement a reliable reserving policy and handle claims payments efficiently.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with insurers, the internal yacht team, and producers, ensuring transparency in claim progress.
  • Supervise claims within a predetermined threshold and collaborate with insurers for claims exceeding the threshold for notification, approval, and payment.
  • Regularly communicate with the Finance department regarding claims settlements for insurers.
  • Develop and execute a claims strategy in collaboration with the Management Team.
  • Provide effective monthly and quarterly reports to the Management Team, including precise monthly claims bordereau production.
  • Offer expertise and supervision of the yacht portfolio to provide underwriting advice.
  • Generate Debit Notes/Invoices and Credit Notes using the in-house company system.
  • Oversee the workload of the part-time yacht claims assistant and potential future team members.
  • Meet any additional adhoc needs requested by the company to aid the claims function.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in handling marine claims, particularly in yacht claims.
  • Knowledge of both the international market and Lloyd's markets.
  • Effective prioritization and delegation skills.
  • Strong abilities in relationship management.
  • Superb communication and organizational skills.
  • Ambitious, adaptable, and prepared to assume an expanding role within the company.
