Marine Claims Manager

Looking for a Marine Claims Manager to join a specialist Lloyd's of London broker in the City of London. This role provides an exciting opportunity to be part of a knowledgeable team handling a growing portfolio of UK and international business, focusing on international yacht claims. The ideal candidate will have the chance for career growth, eventually leading a larger claims department.

  • Day to Day Responsibilities:
    • Manage yacht claims from First Notification of Loss (FNOL) to settlement.
    • Oversee an effective reserving policy and efficiently handle claims payments.
    • Establish and nurture strong relationships with insurers, the internal yacht team, and producers, ensuring transparency in claims progress.
    • Handle claims within a specified threshold and collaborate with insurers on claims exceeding the threshold for notification, approval, and payment.
    • Regularly communicate with the Finance department on claims settlements for insurers.
    • Develop and implement a claims strategy in conjunction with the Management Team.
    • Ensure accurate monthly claims bordereau production and provide regular reporting to the Management Team.
    • Offer expertise on the yacht portfolio to guide underwriting decisions.
    • Generate Debit Notes/Invoices and Credit Notes on the company's system.
    • Supervise the workload of the part-time yacht claims assistant and other team members as the team expands.
    • Handle any additional ad-hoc requirements to support the claims function as needed.
  • Required Skills & Qualifications:
    • Prior experience in managing marine claims, especially yacht claims.
    • Knowledge of the international market and Lloyd's markets.
    • Effective prioritization and delegation skills.
    • Strong relationship management, communication, and organizational abilities.
    • Ambitious, open-minded, and eager to take on an evolving role within the company.
