An exciting opportunity is available for a Claims Manager to join a specialized Lloyd's of London broker situated in the vibrant City. This role allows you to be a part of a small yet highly knowledgeable team, overseeing a growing portfolio of UK and global business, with a primary focus on handling international yacht claims. The successful candidate will have the opportunity for career advancement and future management of a larger claims department.

Responsibilities:
  • Handle yacht claims from First Notification of Loss (FNOL) to settlement.
  • Maintain an efficient reserving policy and process claims payments effectively.
  • Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with insurers, the internal yacht team, and producers, ensuring transparency in claims progress.
  • Supervise claims within a predetermined threshold and collaborate with insurers for claims exceeding the threshold for notification, authorization, and payment.
  • Communicate proactively with the Finance department concerning claims settlements on behalf of insurers.
  • Develop and execute a tailored claims strategy alongside the Management Team.
  • Provide efficient monthly and quarterly reporting to the Management Team, including accurate monthly claims bordereau production.
  • Offer expertise and supervision of the yacht portfolio to provide insights for underwriting.
  • Create Debit Notes/Invoices and Credit Notes using the internal company system.
  • Oversee the workload of the part-time yacht claims assistant and other team members as the team expands.
  • Address any additional impromptu requirements essential for supporting the claims function within the company.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in managing marine claims, primarily focusing on yacht claims.
  • Knowledge of both the international market and Lloyd's markets.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and delegate responsibilities.
  • Exceptional relationship management skills.
  • Outstanding communication and organizational capabilities.
  • Ambitious, adaptable, and prepared to embrace an evolving role within the company.
