As a Head of Buying, you will own the strategic development, performance and maintenance of Pasta Evangelists to obtain the best possible combination of price, quality, and service for Pasta Evangelists.


You will be responsible for performing strategic procurement activities across various spend categories, aiming to find better deals and more profitable suppliers.

Your expertise in supplier relationship management and negotiation skills will be crucial in ensuring cost-effective and high-quality procurement.

Additionally, you will analyse market trends, forecast demand, and mitigate risks to optimise the procurement process.

What you'll do at Pasta Evangelists:

  • Developing, leading and executing purchasing strategies.
  • Tracking and reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Crafting negotiation strategies and closing deals with optimal terms.
  • Partner with Key stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation.
  • To work in conjunction with Commercial, Food and Technical teams to continuously monitor and manage the consistency of product quality supplied into shops.
  • To work with food, commercial and merchandising to ensure we have costs ahead of product launches.
  • To support the ops Development teams in landing any product and equipment ahead of launch.
  • In conjunction with the logistics and supply chain team, constantly seek out opportunities for improvement in efficiency within the supply base that will result in obtaining and delivering fresher food to the shops.
  • Forecast price and market trends to identify changes.
  • Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking that will improve Pasta Evangelists profitability.
  • Assess, manage and mitigate any potential risks.
  • Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers.
  • To hold regular meetings with key suppliers to ensure that all aspects of the supplier's relationship with Pasta Evangelists meets the required standards.
  • Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
  • Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.

Who you are:

  • Strong leadership capabilities, negotiation skills, and analytical abilities.
  • Familiar with sourcing and vendor management, possess business sense, and be proficient in gathering and analysing data.
  • Experience in buying across multiple categories.
  • Managed and led the buying function.
  • Understanding of importing and exporting of goods.
  • Decisionmaking skills and be proficient in vendor management software.
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.
  • Good understanding of purchasing processes and practices in a fast moving manufacturing/retail/service organisation.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Strong influencing and relationship skills.
  • You take ownership, with strong project management skills.
  • Good understanding of factory production processes and operations and act with velocity to optimise solutions.
