Guild Care is Worthing's leading social care charity, and our vision is that

As a charity, Guild Care provides and subsidises services that support some of our communities most vulnerable.

In addition to our three not-for-profit care homes, we run a wealth of community services that support older people, people living with dementia, and children and adults with learning disabilities.

At the heart of our mission is combating social isolation and that is where you come in.

About the Role
As a charity we provide and subsidise services that support some of our communities most vulnerable residents. This includes older people, children/young people with disabilities and those who live with dementia. Our work touches the lives of thousands of people across
Worthing and the surrounding area, and we are hoping to recruit a network of volunteer
Community Champions to help make a real difference to peoples' lives.

The aim of our Community Champions is to undertake fundraising activities on behalf of
Guild Care within their location either on their own or as part of a group within the same location.

We can supply you with ideas, advice, materials and tips and tricks and you will be fully supported by us and by the wider team of community champions.


In your role, you may also recruit new Community Champions that will work alongside you or who may want to join another group.

The role is flexible and will allow you to do as little or as much as you feel able to.

Not only will you be helping to raise vital funds, but you will also be helping to spread awareness of the valuable work we do.


What will I be doing? - Tasks & Duties

  • Leafleting at our retails shops, helping us gain much needed volunteers.
  • Undertake community fundraising events within your group or location

For example:
bake sales or raffles.

  • Spread the word about Guild Care and the work we do.
  • Recruit other Community Champions to help create a network of Community
Champions.

  • Provide support at our events.
  • Bucket collection at events and supermarkets
  • You will be an important part of the fundraising team
  • Volunteers in this role will complete the Guild Care recruitment process which includes two character references, a where appropriate a Disclosure & Barring Service check, an onsite induction and an introduction to volunteering session _

Ad hoc basis throughout the year

Support Offered
You will be supported by the volunteering team and the unit that you will be volunteering for.

Depending on your role there will be some training that we ask that you complete. This is outlined below

  • Volunteer Handbook and induction
  • You will have the help and support of the Fundraising Partnership Officer and the
Community Champions Lead trustee as well as our Volunteer Coordinator.
