Join our client Bury Council as they are currently looking for a passionate Team Manager to be part of their Children's Edge of Care Team. You'll have the opportunity to lead and supervise a social work team, provide child protection services, and ensure the welfare of children and young people in the community.

Responsibilities of this role:

  • The leadership, direction, and supervision of a social work team.
  • Provision of a child protection investigative and intervention service.
  • Provision of a duty service to deal with new referrals to Children's fieldwork services.
  • Support of field social workers through the process of supervision and by attending conferences, reviews, joint interviews, initial core groups, and other meetings where appropriate.
  • Taking responsibility for key decisions in respect of individual children and young people, following departmental and statutory guidelines.
  • Allocation of the workload based on agreed priorities with Senior Managers, and ensuring fair distribution within the team.
  • Convening child protection conferences, reviews, core groups efficiently, and chairing such meetings as per Departmental procedures.
  • Ensuring implementation of agreed childcare plans to promote and safeguard the interests of children and young people.
  • Participation in the development and management of integrated local services for children in need and their families through collaborative partnerships with significant agencies, organizations, and groups.
  • Monitoring the level and quality of social work practice to uphold high service standards.

Requirements of this role:

  • Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Social Work Team Manager.
