**Job overview**:
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Children’s Services. We would welcome applicants who are motivated and forward thinking to lead a team of School Nurses in Community Services Bury.

The successful applicant will provide leadership and clear professional management to a team within a defined locality and will be responsible for ensuring their team’s safe delivery of effective evidence-based care, initiating improvements and implementing changes within the services. In addition to this they will have a responsibility for leading and developing on a clinical area of interest.

The post is two days all year round.

**Main duties of the job**:
The Locality Lead will contribute nursing expertise to service delivery and planning and will be the first point of contact for staff and students, service users and other key stakeholders providing a prompt management response to relevant operational / development issues. The role also includes recruitment, selection, deployment and supervision of staff and students.

The successful applicant will be a good team player who will complement an existing team of Locality Leads who are responsible for modernisation and effective service delivery; based upon national guidance, policies and local research based evidence targeted to meet the local needs of children and families.

**Detailed job description and main responsibilities**:
**This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as an Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months. Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.**
