We are recruiting a Clinical Librarian for Kent and Medway NHS Partnership Trust (KMPT).

You will be employed by Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust to provide professional librarian services to staff and trainees at KMPT.

You will work alongside KMPT Trust staff to provide timely, highly specific evidence to inform patient care, research and education, using expert skills in searching for, assessing and synthesising literature and information.

This post is a fixed term 12 month contract to provide maternity cover.

To be the lead professional providing services to KMPT under SLA with Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust

To work alongside clinical staff, trainees, researchers and educators to provide timely, highly specific evidence to inform patient care.

To use expert skills in searching online databases to provide comprehensive literature searches to clinical teams.

To use highly developed appraisal skills to select and evaluate relevant information, and present this as appropriate, including digests of evidence and literature reviews as required

To deliver training across a range of information skills including evidence searching and health literacy

To promote the Library and Knowledge Services to all potential users.

To undertake appropriate professional work in either of the Trust libraries, according to service needs.

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital Trust in the county of Kent.


The Trust provides a full range of general hospital services and some areas of specialist complex care to around 760,000 people living in the south part of West Kent and the north part of East Sussex.

The Trust's core catchment areas are Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells and their surrounding boroughs.

We work from two main clinical sites:
Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury.

Tunbridge Wells Hospital opened in 2011 and provides single rooms with en-suites for all in-patients - the first of its kind in the country.


We employ more than 7,000 full and part-time staff in a huge range of clinical and non-clinical roles across both of our hospital sites.
