What you'll be responsible for:

  • Book out homecare drugs on the Pharmacy JAC computer system against clinically screened prescriptions, to consultant cost centres and to patient codes. This requires in depth knowledge of the pharmacy computer system and attention to detail
  • Reconcile patient details on the JAC pharmacy dispensing system to hospital numbers on invoices and notify the homecare company if information is incorrect to enable them to correct their records. This involves liaising with suppliers with tact to encourage the suppliers to record any errors or omissions. This also involves persuading the suppliers to record complaints and incidents (C&I's) as recommended by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Guidance on the management of C&I's.
  • Ensure all prescriptions are processed in a timely manner to assist with financial reports and audits. This involves planning and managing own workload to support the wider pharmacy team with drug budget management.
  • Act on requests in a timely manner from homecare providers regarding prescription renewals liaising with clinical teams as needed. This involves liaising with clinical teams and on occasions patients, to ensure that prescriptions are written, and deliveries are made to avoid patients missing doses of medication.
The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Packages e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
