Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Grounds construction worker. Duties include

  • Perform manual labor tasks such as digging trenches, shoveling materials, and loading/unloading construction materials.
  • Operate hand and power tools such as drills, saws, jackhammers, and pneumatic hammers.
  • Assist with the erection and dismantling of scaffolding, temporary structures, and barricades.
  • Assist skilled tradespeople, such as carpenters, electricians, and plumbers, with their tasks as needed.
  • Follow safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and colleagues.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization on the construction site, including cleaning up debris and waste.
  • Help with the setting up and removal of temporary construction site facilities, such as portable toilets and fencing.
  • Load and unload construction materials from trucks and ensure they are properly stored and secured.
  • Perform basic maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth project progress.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in construction or a related field is preferred but not always required.
  • Physical strength and stamina to perform manual labour tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of construction tools, equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and challenges.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Certification in relevant areas such as OSHA safety training may be advantageous.

Salary:
£14.58-£22.00 per hour
