The Client
My client is an indigenous organisation who continue to grow their brand in Northern Ireland. They are recruiting for a Head of Regulation & Governance to work alongside the Senior Management Team.

The Role

  • Accountable for the organisations professional governance policies and processes and their implementation across all professional activities in Pharmacy Group, and in line with Pharmacy Regulation and terms of service.
  • Act as the Responsible Person (RP) in relation to MHRA Wholesale Dealers Authorisation License arrangements in Pharmacy Group
  • Ensure that all procedures are in place and actioned to comply with requirements of MHRA in relation to WDA arrangements.
  • Be aware of current developments in Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and ensure where changes have occurred, these are implemented.
  • Act as the Data Protection Officer (DPO), and ensure that the Pharmacy Group are fully complaint with this legislation
  • Maintain oversight of service delivery and work with APMs/PSM as appropriate to monitor impact of introduction of service provision on pharmacists' ability to deliver against other priorities
  • Ensure appropriate action is taken where operation governance processes identify corrective measures e.g. Quality visits
  • Act as a source of information in relation to MHRA related queries were necessary
  • Maintain awareness of external environment for professional and regulatory issues that could impact the business
  • Represent company at relevant professional events when required
  • Use expertise to advise/guide on high level materials that have been drafted in response to significant issues for example correspondence with regulatory bodies (PSNI, MHRA, RQA).

The Person

  • Registered or eligible to register with the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience at managerial level in a Community Pharmacy
  • Demonstrable commitment and evidence of CPD
  • Evidence to demonstrate up to date knowledge in the field of practice including legislative updates, medicines and supply of medicines.
  • Evidence of managing a range of projects through to completion.
  • Evidence of creating, implementing and rolling out policies and procedures.
