Job Purpose:
UX Design in all aspects for various carlines, following best industry practices, design process and automotive standards.
To own and be responsible for the Human Factors of vehicle HMI
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Your core focus will be on digital user experience touchpoints for future Aston Martin Lagonda infotainment, connect, switchgear, hardware etc.
- Own HMI Attribute and all relates aspects
- Own target setting for each carline
- Plan, Conduct and analyze results of Human Factors & usability tests (online / physical)
- Plan, Conduct and analyze results of Driving simulator testing
- Support customer and markets insight team, product strategy team & regional teams in conducting customer clinics
- Plan, Conduct and analyze results of concept validation testing
- Create learning reports and feature/function specification documents for development handover
- Facilitate and conduct user testing and Lead user testing and expert analysis of UX concepts e.g. A/B testing
- Conduct Aston Martin whole vehicle testing for HMI features both within & outside of the UK with a focus on customer acceptance.
- Liaising with technical and cross functional teams to explore and understand technical constraints/possibilities and key business objectives/outcomes
- Manage open issues and provide valuable UX input towards pragmatic resolutions using the issues management tools and processes
- Develop and maintain short &/ longterm HMI strategy & foster relevant new technologies to implementation, within agreed budget, timing etc. collaboratively with the team
- Deliver the program quality, cost, function and timing requirements for the HMI features you are responsible for.
- Ensure that the systems meet the attribute targets (with suppliers), creating & managing recovery plans as required.
- Project manage the suppliers in order to ensure your deliverables are met in agreed times
- Work with a cross functional teams to ensure that all stakeholders deliver the support required to deliver your systems on time and to budget.
- Working collaboratively with the UX/UI and Electrical teams
Qualification & Experience:
- Strong grounding in full UX Design Process
- HMI UX definition, concept creation and ideation
- Design prototyping and related tools
- Validation of UX concepts, data driven design methodologies
- Detailed specification creation and delivery for implementation
- UX Design tools and softwares
- Supplier management experience and working with cross functional teams
- Agile and waterfall methodologies
- Experience in HMI UX/UI.
- Automotive HMI experience
- Proven record of delivering complex UX projects for multiple screens/customer touchpoints.
- Extensive knowledge of automotive life cycle development
- Complete knowledge of Product Development cycle from concept to launch completion
- Excellent UX design background and a comprehensive knowledge of using data, calculation and analysis to drive design.
- Excellent knowledge of automotive design tools and processes.
- Human factors or usability testing
- Strong interpersonal and people skills
- Human Factors / equivalent apprenticeship / related qualification
- Masters / Doctorate in related field
