Blue Arrow has an exciting opportunity for a temporary Data Protection Officer located in Edinburgh City Centre

Hours - Temporary - 3/4 week assignment - 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday office hours

Salary - £47,000 PA

Purpose of role


To provide expert technical advice and support to ensure that the client complies with its statutory information governance and data processing obligations.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Continuous auditing of data processing and sharing, both within the client and with
third parties

  • Monitoring compliance with the GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, the Freedom of
Information (Scotland) Act 2002 and all related information governance legislation

  • Reviewing and drafting relevant policies and procedures for centrallyemployed staff
and congregations/Presbyteries and delivering training on these

  • Raising awareness, liaising with and advising staff in the National Offices and
volunteers throughout the country about the practical requirements of the GDPR and

the Data Protection Act 2018

behalf ofthe departments within the National Offices, congregations and Presbyteries

  • Advising and informing internal governance committees on relevant data protection
obligations, reporting on compliance and making recommendations

  • Advising on data protection impact assessments

SKILL REQUIREMENTS
In-depth understanding of the GDPR and the

Data Protection Act 2018 and proven experience

practical level including giving advice

Professional background in data protection,

information governance or information

management

Ability to create high quality bespoke resources

Methodical and systematical with experience in

setting up data/information strategies and

resulting guidance

Knowledge of information technologies and data

security standards

Experience in using OneTrust privacy

management software

Knowledge of FOI legislation

Ability to audit data management systems
