About the Role

Changeworks, a leading environmental charity, is seeking a Senior Data Protection Advisor to ensure the safeguarding of data through excellent governance and practice, remaining compliant as we tackle the climate emergency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and work with customer-facing advice, consultancy, and project delivery services, as well as internal teams, to ensure data protection compliance.
  • Use expertise in UK General Data Protection Regulations, Data Protection Act (2018), and privacy legislation to prioritize and respond to Data Protection Helpdesk requests.
  • Advise on Data Processing Impact Assessments, retention schedules, Data Sharing Agreements, privacy notices, and other relevant documents.
  • Coordinate responses to Subject Access Requests and Deletion Requests, and assist managers and colleagues with breach and near-miss reporting.
  • Act as a point of contact with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as necessary.
  • Maintain and further develop the Data Protection Hub using Microsoft SharePoint, providing templates, guides, and resources to build confidence and competence across Changeworks.
  • Support teams and individuals with the centralization of data protection contracts and key documents on the Hub.
  • Collaborate with the Training Team to ensure impactful and appropriate data protection learning and development opportunities, guidance, and resources are in place to support colleagues, teams, and services.
