Chair of Trustees Abbeyfield England

London, Greater London, United Kingdom LANGTON N4P Full time
Abbeyfield England is a charitable membership organisation providing care and housing across the UK and was established in 1956.

Their mission is to enhance the quality of life for older people through high-quality accommodation in a stimulating environment and to maintain a socially active life.

Community is at the heart of Abbeyfield, where people come together to share company and enjoy life. In England, Abbeyfield's Member Societies provide homes for 3,700 older people. The range of properties varies in age and type, offering sheltered housing, extra-care and registered care homes.

Abbeyfield England is now looking to strengthen their board and we are seeking a Chair of Trustees – ideally someone with previous experience of being a Chair or a Charity CEO who is able to demonstrate significant experience in helping an organisation with their strategy, governance and management.

Any experience of a leadership role within housing or the care related sector would also be welcomed.

Trustees have a duty to ensure that the charity is well run, solvent, legally compliant, and working towards the charitable purpose for which it was established, and Trustee roles are an important and a highly rewarding way to support an organisation.

Please note that Trustee roles are unremunerated voluntary positions, although reasonable travel expenses will be paid.

Abbeyfield England is committed to equality of opportunity, supports, and encourages under-represented groups, and values diversity.

We seek people from a wide range of backgrounds, who will bring a fresh perspective to the Board, and having reviewed existing Trustee's diversity, skills, and experience, AE is keen for the Board to reflect the diversity of the communities that they work with and therefore welcome applications from all sections of the community.

Please contact Heidi Earp, Director of Langton Not 4 Profit our retained consultants for further information on the role. The closing date for expressions of interest is Monday 1^st July.
