Woking, Surrey, United Kingdom WWF-UK Full time

This is a UK based contract and as such, you are required to have the Right to Work in the UK. Evidence of your Right to Work will be checked prior to interview.

If you have
extensive policy development experience, this is an incredible opportunity to join the world's leading independent conservation organisation and help change the future of our planet.

At WWF UK we are finalising our ambitious new 3-year strategy designed to secure four main outcomes critical to our 2030 climate and nature goals: stop nature loss from deforestation; resilient, prosperous, and sustainable UK; bring nature back from the brink; and securing a public mandate.

As a key member of our Policy Solutions Team, the
Head of Policy – Production will have a critical role in delivering this strategy by driving change through the food, finance and trade systems.

As
Head of Policy - Production, you will
lead a committed team and take responsibility for managing projects, programmes and portfolios across the organisation.

You will
create policy that influences government and business to act on the climate and nature crisis through the production and consumption of food.

This will involve working to understand the problem,
exploring and developing novel solutions as well as designing and prototyping policy.

We will look to you to analyse existing and proposed policies for effectiveness and quality as well as
identify new policy ideas from other contexts or locations.

You will oversee the integration of policy and advocacy priorities into on the ground delivery too.

You will also engage with our devolved and network offices to learn from their work and ensure objectives and activities are developed and coordinated to maximise effectiveness.

This will include
forming links and strategic relationships with other organisations and across our global network. Important will be the ability to
inspire and build a high performing, creative and confident team.

To help build back nature, you must have
extensive policy development experience in one or (ideally) more of the following areas: climate and the environment/food consumption/food production/biodiversity and nature restoration.

You will have
a strong understanding of how policy is influenced, both inside and outside Government and the ability to develop and influence key stakeholders.

Comfortable proposing and driving novel approaches to public policy challenges, you will be
used to evaluating policy and implementing insight to improve impact.

You will also have
experience of large-scale grant and programme management.

A
strong project manager, you will be enthusiastic about working in and leading across matrix teams as well as skilled at bringing people together to work towards common goals.

A
confident communicator, you will be the sort of person who champions new ideas and builds strong external relationships.
